Abstract

Revolutionary painter Kazimir Malevič and avant-garde filmmaker Hans Richter are involved in a film project that has left only three sheets of notes comprising an entire film. Something is not shown, yet something is imaginable. However, it is possible to sweep one’s gaze over the moving drawings according to Suprematist geometry, whose forms would have multiplied in the film projection. What remains of the Malevič/Richter project is the imagination held in the dynamics of the gaze.
