Abstract

In his last creative phase, which overlaps with his post-Sixties critical reflection, Pier Paolo Pasolini tackles the problem of the rest – that which exceeds realism – as a modern, bourgeois formal-ideological element. The text aims to analyse the role that rest and perversion take on in Pasolini’s mature reflection, as a symptom of a protean reality resistant to any attempt at rational, logical and structural systematisation.
