Submission Preparation Checklist
All articles submitted for publication must meet the following requirements:
- respect of the editorial guidelines for authors
- the article was not previously published or considered by another journal
all references to sources have been checked for accuracy and completeness
all tables and figures have been numbered and provided with captions - permission has been obtained from rights holders to publish all photos, data sets, and other materials provided with this submission.
Article
The “articles” section publishes articles of various kinds (essays, notes, bibliographical information); the articles in this section are evaluated by the Editorial Board and subjected to double-blind peer review by at least one external reviewer.
Full volume
The section “Full Volume” publishes the entire volume of State Archives of Assyria Bulletin (SAAB), the individual articles having been subjected to double blind peer review by at least one external reviewer.

The author retains the copyright on his contribution, however allowing anyone "to reproduce, distribute, communicate to the public, exhibit in public, represent, perform, and declaim the work", provided that the author and the title of the journal are correctly mentioned.
When submitting an article, the author is also required to declare that the content and the organization of the article are original, and do not compromise in any way the rights of third parties or the obligations related to the protection of moral and economic rights of other authors or of other entitled parties, both for texts, images, photos, tables, and for other parts of the article.
The author also declares to be aware of the sanctions prescribed in the criminal code and in the special laws against forgery in documents and for the use of false documents, as well as in the provisions of the GDPR and the Deontological Rules for processing data for archiving purposes in the public interest or for purposes of historical research published according to art. 20, paragraph 4, of the Legislative Decree 10 August 2018, n. 101 - 19 December 2018; and that State Archives of Assyria Bulletin is exempt from any liability of any nature, either civil, administrative, or criminal, and will be held harmless by the author from any request or claim by third parties.
Privacy Statement
The collection of personal data relating to registered and unregistered users of the journal is limited to the purposes of standard operation of all peer-reviewed scientific journals. Therefore, only the information indispensable for: the procedures of evaluation and publication of articles is collected; informing the readers about the authorship and editorial processing of the contents; outlining the readers' preferences for the articles, as well as their national and geographical origin in an aggregate and anonymous form. They are, therefore, used exclusively for scientific communication purposes.
The Editorial Board uses the data only to manage the workflow and improve the journal's quality. The data may be partly shared with the OJS (PKP) developers, always in anonymous and aggregate form, except for publication, consultation, and contributions download metrics. The data will never be used for commercial purposes other than those indicated here, neither by the Journal, the publisher, or b PKP.
Authors who publish in the journal are responsible for the data they report regarding the people mentioned in their scientific articles; these respond to the GDPR and the Deontological Rules for the processing for archiving purposes in the public interest or for historical research purposes published according to art. 20, paragraph 4, of Legislative Decree 10 August 2018, n. 101 - 19 December 2018.
The Editorial Staff of the journal is, in any case, available to any interested parties for the modification or deletion of personal or sensitive data that may refer to specific natural persons
The management of the journal complies with data protection standards, including the provisions of the GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation) of the European Union regarding the "rights of data subjects", which include: (a) notification of violation; (b) right of access; (c) right to be forgotten; (d) data portability; (e) privacy by design.
Moreover, the GDPR also recognizes "the public interest in the availability of data”" which is relevant for all those committed to ensuring the public visibility of scientific research products with the most excellent possible integrity.
